It has been a pretty interesting month as you can see by the following pictures.
I told myself as Jacob got back home from college, that I would make the most of this month with him. I tried to include him in everything we did. With dad gone most of the month, we tried to have a month to remember. I even avoided going out on any dates so that way we could make it the best month.
Here's what we did:
April 28.
We had a nice family reunion as we gathered for the last time in a while. We went to Scandia. It was on of those things that Jacob says I put in the forefront of my mind and not let go. I really wanted to go to Scandia, whether we went as a family or just the kids. Finally, we made the trip. We spent our time in the arcade. We played games like group PacMan, Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, Kung Fu Panda Smash, shooting, etc. Mom was pretty good at her favorite game: Deal, or No Deal. She won us over 400 tickets just playing that one game. We also played my favorite arcade game: Jump Rope Jackpot. Unfortunately, I couldn't perform under pressure and didn't get the jackpot for the first time. After it all we took these nice pictures in front of the Mini-golf area.
We had participated in a contest as a family, including our beloved Tony. We played against each other at the NCAA tournament bracket challenge. Jacob won the against all of us in a close contest. So of course, he won the spoils. A Garbage Burrito from Miguel's Jr. The coveted prize.
April 29.
Jacob's long awaited endowment was a nice family event. We got our last updated family picture in front of the Redlands Temple. After that date, I took him to three other temple trips. It was great. And Cafe Rio is always a grand adventure (even if it is not Dad's favorite place).
May 3.
One of our trips to the Temple.
May 5.
We were able to go to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it came out with our cousin Mosiah. Later on June 3, I took Braden Knudsen and Jacob to go watch Wonder Woman. Fun times.
May 10.
He joined my ward in doing temple baptisms. He did the recording for the baptisms. My ward loved him.
May 20.
He joined me for an escapade to San Diego, where we visited one of my favorite temples. It was good doing an endowment there, seeing the Celestial Room and the atrium. Then take a bunch of fun pictures together and with his Pennsylvania flag. We also got some great burritos from The Taco Stand. Great Trip.
May 30.
My 28th birthday was a memorable one. We went to the Griffith Observatory. Took some awesome LA skyline pictures together. Spent it at a Best Western where mom got stuck in the shower. Good memories.
May 31.
Day after my birthday we paid a visit to the LA temple and its visitor center. 1,395,708 missionaries since the Restoration of the Church in 1830. Jacob is going to be one of them. Then, two really pretty girls asked us to take their picture and they took our pictures for us.
June 3.
#BYUfanfest in Corona. We met amazing people, including Spencer Linton and Jarom Jordan and Mo Langi. Great fun!
So many fun things. Tonight he gets set apart as a missionary for two years to go to the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission, and he leaves early early morning tomorrow. Crazy. I'm glad to have been able to spend so much time with my youngest sibling. He'll do great.
