DearElder.com letter #11

Dearest Jacob,

I'm going to send this to your email and DearElder, since it says you don't get DEs on Saturday or Sunday.

I hope you are doing well.  We miss you, but only a little bit because we know you are out there making the world a better place.

I can't wait to get your P-day letter tomorrow.  I'm really anxious to hear about your second week at the MTC.

Elder Christofferson visited Oxford recently to talk about his role during the Watergate scandals.  I like something that he said.  It resonated with me.  He said, "A life devoted to service to others allows conscience to flourish."   Then he quoted Matthew 20:26-27.  We are walking in Christ shoes when we serve others.  I had the opportunity to help Brother Harris help one of his friends from north Fontana pack his truck to move to La Verne today.  I at first was a bit hesitant to go, honestly, but it was nice because the service was one that I could render and perhaps reap blessings from.  You are doing a service to mankind by going out and being a missionary.  You will do good.  Just keep following the promptings of the spirit and you can do no wrong.

I have come to the conclusion that I should probably stop going after girls that join the ward just from High School and might be going on a mission (like the other day when I met Bethanie Stott).  I'm kinda afraid to go after girls that are just a wee bit older than me...especially if they have broken the 30s barrier.  I know, I know, I dated a 35 year old, but still.  IDK.  Younger girls are really appealing, if only they weren't hitch to the mission.  So, IDK.  I am actively searching, so that's still on the table.  We'll see who I actually end up with.

I have Stake Conference this weekend.  I know how much you love those.  We should be getting a new stake president in the Rancho Cucamonga stake.  IDK how the church is going to handle two new presidents in the same area.  They'll probably handle it well, like they handle most situations.

Just finished the 4-part crossover.  Satisfied with Cisco learning it's easy to change the timeline.

Well, have a great P-day.

Love you lots,

John
