Wow! I talked to President Knudsen (KM6KHU) on the HAM Radio today from these locations. I had my handheld with the rubber duck and he was in his car with an antenna based on his roof. He moved from this location, but when he did, it was harder and harder to hear him. He did drive back to his house in the test and it would get more and more difficult to hear him. It was quite fun and interesting to see what things he changed. I'm just glad I got to transmit and hear someone else talk to me on the other end. Thanks Brother Harris for suggesting that I talk to President Knudsen.
Not a bad day. I went to Institute early. I love it when I get to do that because usually Brother (Bishop) Trask is by himself and I get to talk to him. I got to talk to him today. I told him about how I got Ryan Lauritzen and his fiancé a gift card and a wedding card for his reception this Saturday. I mentioned how now, all of MY Elders Quorum Presidency will be married but me. He told me it's not a race. Then he said that at least I'm the male and have the opportunity to move things any way I want. I then started telling him about my journey since Stephanie and I broke up. I've dated 5 girls in the last 6 months:
Hailey Daker
Lilly Hinckley
Erica Berrett
Mishayla Nichols
I told him about my plans to ask Danielle Demke soon. But I told him that hesitantly, hoping that that I wouldn't be pressured into having already asked her out. In other words, my dating woes. He was very sympathetic, especially saying that he was always hesitant to ask girls out. That he only asked 5 or so girls out before he met his wife. And that when he met his wife, it all just happened organically, that it wasn't terribly difficult. He said that he went on a double date but she was the other guys date on that date. I'm trying to remember the 5th date, when I remember, I'll update the list.
About Danielle, he definitely approves of the choice. He reminded me that she gave a killer talk on Family History at Stake Conference. I remember it well, because she said that we need to make the history real to us. We need to apply what was going on in our ancestors lives at that point in history. She gave an example that if she had this ancestor in the 1920s, that they were probably doing such and such thing with the prohibition, living through this ordeal. Brother Trask said she is very mature, strong in the gospel, head on her shoulders, faithful woman that does things of note on her own accord. He told me to get close to her. I told him that I was in her Temple Prep class. He said to call her with temple or family history questions. I told him that I am just gaining the courage to ask her. That I was considering doing it this last Sunday, but Briley Bliss got her attention and I decided to ask another time. I like Danielle. We'll see where things lead.
It was hard to get into Brother Trask's lesson because Tyler Frederick was talking to me, and then I got texts from Chad Slemboski about setting an appointment with Bishop. I guess he's back now. That's not good for Savannah Hudrlik. His lesson was on the talk "Walk With Me" by President Eyring. Before, I was assigned to play piano and give opening prayer. Brother Trask gave me praise for both at the beginning of his lesson, then jokingly asked for $20 for the praise in front of everyone. A girl, Malynda Tillman, complemented me on taking on so many tasks, and we played ping pong for a good 10 to 15 minutes. She's nice and pretty, but she's going on a mission really soon to the Phillipines. She is in the Terra Vista ward, and I see her all the time at Institute. We were going to sing hymn #219 "Because I Have Been Given Much," but then I started playing #220, "Lord, I Would Follow Thee" nicely and Greg (who is in charge of Institute) changed it.
I went to the Gym all by myself this morning because Mosiah was asleep. I ran a mile in less than 10 minutes and watched an episode of The Middle, which is one of my favorite shows to watch their on TV #1.
Mom was making a great breakfast when I got home, and we ate as a family. Eggs, Potatoes O'Brien, Bacon, and buttered toast.
I was laying down doing nothing, then I got the idea to go to the Mall. But I was feeling guilty because the lawn needed mowing. So I went outside to mow the lawn, finally. Then I left to go to Ontario Mills.
I wanted to get shorts, pants, belts and anything else. So I went to Marshall's, which is usually where I get my clothes. I chose a lot of size 36 waist shorts, but they were all too tight! I was like NOOO! Am I a 38 waste? Unfortunately, it seems like that is the case. I didn't look too hard after that. then I headed to Sam Ash. Sam Ash is a music store, one of a very small amount of music stores in the area. I mostly went to check out Ukuleles. The ones that I want are about $200. I don't know if I should invest in one now, or later. I also drove to Guitar Center to check them out, but I like the selection at Sam Ash better. I don't want to get a Cordoba because that is what Jacob has, so, we'll see.
I also went to BOSE, which is a sound system place. I just like going there for fun to watch the action clips of movies and perhaps listen to the sound system. At Office Depot, I noticed projectors. Those are the two things that I want when I have more money and my own place. A projector and a nice sound system. I went to Barnes and Noble today as well and checked out the YOGA book and looked around for a bit.
I guess Mom went to the grocery store while I was gone. I ate dinner at Subway. I had the hardest time trying to find a good place to eat. Before that, I got a Target gift card and a wedding card for Ryan Lauritzen and his fiancé Sam.
