6/19 The Amazing FHE Race

I had fun at FHE tonight, although, I was starting to feel a bit anxious by the end of it because people were making fun of Tyler's speed walking and general umption to lead the group..  We did the Amazing Race.  In it, we got several clues that we had to follow to different places and different tasks to do at each place.  We had like 8 people in our group: the two Obi brothers, Chris Chandroo, Tyler Frederick, Bobby Bray, and someone I didn't know but who said the A-word and I called him out on it later.  Tyler said witch instead of the B-word and he was getting rude in his gestures and walking taking the right of way at the Mall.  So the first clue was to go to Kenyon Park.  There we met the Kirtleys and we had to take a football and throw it through a hoop with both hands.

Then we went to Ralphs on Day Creak.  There we gathered the ingredients of a pizza and took a picture with the Harris'.  I was last one in the car because I felt the need to return the cold pepperoni's back to the freezer.  So I ran and got back to the car after they took the picture.

The next clue got us.  It took us to Victoria Gardens.  The problem with it is that Victoria Gardens is a really big place, really big.  The clue was not specific about where to find the Bishop and his wife.  In fact we saw Brother and Sister O'Neill much faster before we even found the bishop.  We actually didn't find the bishop at all.  We walked and walked and combed through the whole mall, without even catching a glimpse of the bishop or his wife.  Tyler was starting to get bossy, declaring himself the Rick Grimes (from the Walking Dead) of the group, and the person who I don't know the name of, was antagonizing him.  Tyler was definitely walking fast and pretty much leading us all through a wild goose chase for the bishop.  We finally got a clue as to his whereabouts but still couldn't find him around the food court or the Cheesecake Factory.   Finally, after doing some more combing through Victoria Gardens, I contacted Claire O'Neill who was the go to for this activity.  She told me where to find him and I said thanks.  But then she texted me saying that it was getting too late and the O'Neills were leaving their post and to come back.  So we had to put our heads down and travel back, the losers of the whole ordeal.  Oh well, I had a nice time talking to everyone in our group.

Claire called me 3 and a half hours before FHE to ask me if I could teach a lesson.  Of course I said yes.  My topic was the talk from April 2010 conference "You Are My Hands" by Dieter F. Uchtdorf.  I was probably prepared to take a good amount of time, but when it was my turn, I asked Claire how long I should take and she said 5 minutes, so I had to really condense the lesson to the main points.  Good talk.  The presentation went well, although, all the adults were at their posts, so it was just YSA.  Tyler asked me for a link to the talk, but I just gave it to him in paper form.  He told me he liked it.

I talked with the Bishop after the whole Amazing Race.  He is such a cool guy and it was nice to get stuff off my chest.  He wasn't critical at all.  On the contrary, he was a perfect loving servant of God.  I love Bishop Elliott Ellsworth.  I am satisfied with what we talked about.  I love serving him through my calling.  He had me say prayer afterwards, and I felt really good about it.

The gym was fun.  I got to watch an episode of Reba.  It's funny how dense Cheyanne, ,a character in the show, can be, with her husband Van.  She didn't know what state Las Vegas is in.  She said Utah.

I talked to Tyler Hudrlik last night before I went to bed.  I love that guy.  He and his wife are some of my very best friends, along with his sister.  I just told him what's been going on in my life, and how I've been talking to Sarah Trefflich.
