6/12 Money for a friend and Bridges

Mom woke me up early, at around 6:15am to follow her to the Toyota Dealership maintenance area so she could get the car checked out.  I was definitely out of it.  Driving not too bad, but the in between out of it.  I went to sleep when I got home from picking her up.  I didn't get up until after 10:30am.  Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, Mosiah did not text me before or after 10:30, so I wasn't late in picking him up, because I didn't have to.  The gym was great, although I was lazy and only ran like 0.6 of a mile.  I did do other stuff though, like weighted pull-ups and arm work outs.  Also some trunk rotations for the abs.  I really want to work on my abs and my arms.  They are definitely not six-packy and my arms are wimps right now.

I had a good study of the scriptures this morning and other church material.

Chris came by at around 5:30pm.  I once again, hated waiting.  Fortunately he was texting me and calling, so I new he was going to be later than the appointed 4 o'clock time frame.  We only had that hour.  I took him out for Carl's Jr.  We had Famous Stars for $6.  We did the drive thru and took it home.  We reacquainted ourselves with each other since last we met which was like a year and a half ago.  He told me about his week-long trip to Europe, well, really just France and to Spain.  He told me about how he is no longer living at home.  He also mentioned that he has been having trouble coming up with a check to pay off his last three rent dues.  Then he went straight to the point as we went outside to leave for our respective locations.  He asked me for money. $60 to be exact.  I just told him that I am in need of money myself.  He didn't push afterwards.  When I left, I was like, did he really just ask me for money?  I couldn't believe it.  We'll see if he still talks to me after this.  We didn't leave angry at each other, so it definitely is up in the air.

FHE was good.  When I got to church, Luke McDermott was outside cutting PVC pipes for the activity, which was building bridges out of Popsicle sticks and wood glue.  I was in a group with Tyler F, Hailey Daker, Savannah Hudrlik, and Melanie Bray.  We were told to make trestles, which we did and we built a base, but in the end we just added the triangle trestles to the base and had it try to hold.  The glue was taking forever to dry.  We did it, our group did.  It held 5+ hymn books.  The other's was really wimpy.  I was proud.

The lesson was interestingly good.  Natalie Young shared the following church song:

She asked for people to share the words or sentences that stood out to them.  Of course, Diego and Tyler had to get their two cents in.  First, Tyler didn't even say anything about the song.  He went on (and later complained to me in person) about a Ocean-liner building company that is no longer building ocean-liners, and why that made him frustrated.  Diego said something like about how those that are too focused on church miss the big picture.  Natalie said she didn't agree, and I said BURN inside, haha.  Those two can get out of hand sometime.  Diego was also like I have to bring up something I saw on TV, and then he said, "Yes, Sister Harris, I'm going there."  And sister Harris just put her head in her hands, haha.

Hailey was also visiting teaching Bree Frisina on the grass in front of the church.  After they said a closing prayer, I asked Hailey who her companion was and she told me her sister who is no longer in the ward.  I told her I also need a new companion because Dante Cardosa moved.  Bree shared a nectarine with me which was really soft and sweet.  I asked where she got it, and Bree said they were from Hailey's yard.  I was amazed.  They had waffles as the during activity snack.  They were good.  Sydney Scott was making them.  Sydney Scott is a very pretty, somewhat tall, tomboyish type girl.  She's friends with Claire O'Neill, who is also pretty, but short,  and one of the nicest girls I know.  Sydney mentioned that she's planning on staying instead of going to BYU-Idaho next fall and going to Mount Sac instead.  That is extremely great news.  She kinda hinted it was because of her relationship with Tauivi, which makes me so happy.  She's a really nice, great girl.  I don't know where Claire was this evening.

I asked Brother O'Neill about his HAM radio plans.  There's a test coming up that he should be taking soon.  It will be nice to welcome him into the fold.

Chad Slemboski is back.  I noticed him stroking Savannah Hudrlik's back, and I don't know how I feel about that.  She can do better.  He has long hair and a so-so beard.  Plus, she's planning on serving a mission, too, so.....

Yesterday, at the Linger Longer, Elder Kleinman gave me a wonderful complement.  He was just like, how can i be ask cool as John Gonzales.  And I switched it on him.  He was there with the new Elder, Elder Hatch from New Mexico.

I am probably going to Disneyland in two weeks with the Fawcett's and perhaps with Mom and Dad.  We'll see.

Plus, and Aunt Kristen sent me 28 male initiatories to do as soon as I can.  I'll probably get most of them done this Thursday at Stake Temple Day.

President Knudsen asked me to watch Pepper for a few hours tomorrow evening.  Braden is working and they are in New York.  She needs to be watched because they are showing the house tomorrow.
