6/9 NBA finals game #4 and a dance

Tonight was fun!  I watched the Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavalier's NBA basketball game for an Elders Quorum Activity at Eric Slemboski's house.  He's our Elders Quorum President.  This was game four.  The Warriors could have swept the Cavaliers tonight but Lebron James and his team played extremely well.  They scored 49 points in the first quarter alone.  It set a record for highest scoring quarter in an NBA final.  Eric went all out, grilling hamburger (great hamburgers) and hot dogs.  We had chips and watermelon and red vines and cookies and grapes.  The game was really good.  Robert Henrich, who came pretty late was bagging on many of the plays and players.  We all, minus Tyler Frederick, were going for the Cavs.  They won, so it is on to game 5 with a 1 and 3 record.  The picture is most who showed up.  We were suppose to look upset at what was happening in the game.

I went to the dance right after.  I had brought Tyler to the game...picking him up from the Fontana library on Sierra.  We had decided to go to the dance but had arranged not to stay long because Tyler has work in the morning.  Only, I'm sorry that I had arranged that, because Hailey Daker made an appearance (probably her last because the dance was poorly attended at 9:30 and the songs were unrecognizable).  I mostly danced around her, talking at the top of my lungs just to carry a conversation with her.  I like her a lot.  I wonder if talking with her sparked anything in her, because it sure did with me.

I forgot.  There was a new Marvel Cinematic Universe trailer for the Black Panther during the game.  When it came on, we all grew silent.  It was funny, because Arnold and Greg missed it.  Here it is:

At the dance, I saw Brother Harris, the Taverniers, and the Kirtleys.  I talked with Brother Kirtley for a while about his service as bishop in one of the Rancho Cucamonga wards.  Pretty cool.  I also told Brother Harris about the HAM radio conversation I had with President Knudsen yesterday.

I was kinda secretly getting impatient and mad at Tyler today when I went to pick him up because he kept me waiting by the library for like 20 minutes and we got to the game later than I wanted to.  But I didn't tell him my frustration when I finally saw him because it wouldn't have been worth it, I'm sure.  He was on his phone most of the game making comments here and there about random stuff, mostly about oceanliners, his passion.  When I drove him home, as per usual, he brought up zombies and quicksand and the hypotheticals of each.

It was pretty good.  I got a call from AJ Waite, a guy in my ward that is always watching sports on his phone during church, but sings bass.  He asked if he could bring dance committee stuff to my house at around 12 to take to the dance at 6pm.  After all was said and done, he ended up not coming, leaving me to wait because he never informed me via call or text about it.  Because of that, I came home faster from the gym because I thought he was coming over.

Went to the Peruvians house to pick up Mosiah, and he was asleep again.  Saw him later in the day and made some stipulations about coming to the gym with me.  Told him that he needs to call me 15 to 20 minutes before we go so I know that I'm not wasting my time picking him up.  Hopefully all works out.  I watched Harry Potter 6 on Freeform while I ran 1.5ish miles in 20 minutes.  I decided that on days when Mosiah is with me, I'll run a fast 10 minute mile, and on days when he's gone, I will do a more of an endurance race.  It was the same part in the movie that I had watched last time it came on.  The part where Harry placebo gives Ron the Felix Felices so that he will do good in the Quidditch Match against Slytherin.  Then afterward, Lavender Brown makes out with him in front of Hermione.  And I even her the great conversation about how Hermione and Ginny have "nice skin."

We went out to eat.  We were deciding between Viva Villa, La Bufa, and we finally decided on Mucho Gusto, the local Peruvian Restaurant.  The waitresses are good friends with our family, plus Tia Anila works there.  They were asking about my dad's trip to Peru.  Dad told them he got sick twice.  Dad got the special, which was fried fish a la criolla.  But he also ate from our plates.  We shared Pollo a la Brasa and fries, and more fries, rice and salad.  All good, and we finished it all.

Then is when we went to the Peruvians, to check up on them.  They are being evicted from their apartment, tomorrow.  So we are going to help them move (although mom and dad went to help Lucy and Jesus move while I was watching the game).  Tomorrow we are going to there house to move Wiwa's family to Arrow and Tamarind.

After that we went to Deseret Industries.  We had a pleasant exchange with Rosie about Jacob, asking how he was.  I saw Cynthia Acevedo, a less active recent convert.  She hardly talked to me.  I got a large copy of Preach My Gospel, the Diary of Anne Frank, and C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, all for $6.

Eric gave me Nacho Cheese Doritos, a huge tub of Red Vines, and cookies to take home.  He gave Tyler bread buns and Lemonade.
