6/5 Cast All your Anxieties on Him

Dad has returned.  When you get to the International terminal of the LAX Airport, there is a long uphill walkway that anyone can look down on from a little higher.  Jacob and mom sat down and I was the lookout for dad.  As I was looking and waiting for the appearance of our father, two different people stood by me, one after another.  An African American woman was waiting for someone who was returning from London, England.  I noticed on her phone, she had a nice looking paraphrase of a scripture as her background.  It said something like,

"You can cast your fears on Him, for He cares for you."

I noticed it and mentioned how I liked the quote and the home screensaver.  I then showed her my phone screensaver.
I mentioned that we were in front of the LDS temple.  It's funny because I had recently learned about symbols in Temple Prep class on sunday and Danielle Demke mentioned that even our subtle decoration means something.  Like the pictures on our wall, or even on our phone.  I was glad to show this girl my homescreen.  She didn't remember the acronym "LDS" but she did know Mormon.  So it was cool sharing with her.  She was so relieved that her family that was coming home from London were not affected by the bombings in Manchester that happened at the Ariana Grande concert.  Honestly, it seems like something tragic happens everyday in one part of the world or another.  It is so sad.  So it is always good to hear that someone got out of it.  Well, I distracted her long enough that her family said hi from the walkway.

Then, another man stood in front of me.  He had a sign with someone's name on it.  I don't know why, but he started talking to me, too.  Only this time, it was pure Mexican Spanish.  Fortunately, I do know Spanish.  Turns out he's from Mexicali.  His arrivals were also coming from London.  He said Mexicali is not a pretty place to be from.  He distracted me enough that Dad appeared out of nowhere and I had to say a quick "Mucho Gusto" and goodbye to my new friend.

I got up really early this morning.  I just couldn't sleep.  So I came downstairs with my laptop and Book of Mormon and Ensign.  I listened to part of the Manchester Concert that was done after the fact for the victims on Spotify.  After I read, I accidentally scared Mom, who was on her tablet browsing.  She suggested that we watch BYU Sports Nation live.  They were talking about a sports magazine called Avalon which ranked the BYU football team as 39 overall out of 130 and gave BYU a projected record of 9 wins and 4 losses.  We shall see.  They were discussing whether or not that was a too high ranking, too low, or just right.  They said it could be seen all three ways.

Mom spent 25 minutes on hold to not even schedule an appointment with the Urologist for 3 months out.  She was pretty livid and won't let it go.

Then we went to Dickey's Bar-B-Que for lunch.  We found out you can have one of any of the day's specials, not just Monday.  So I got Wednesday's special of 3 ribs with two sides.  They were surprisingly good.

Jacob's starting to gather all of the things he has and getting ready to pack up his bags for his flight to Salt Lake for the MTC in Provo.  He's going to hang out with Sarah until he checks into the MTC.

We went to Miguel's Jr. after we picked up dad.  I only got one Bean and Cheese burrito.  We all got our normal order.
