We ate with mom around the table, and then I asked her if she wanted to watch an episode of The Middle, called A Very Donahue Vacation. She liked it a lot. We had decided to leave early for the temple tonight so we could get initiatories done for four names, two girls and two boys. Mine were Ezra Briggs and Johannes William Eckert. The latter was one of Jacob's names that I did and Ezra I gave to Matthew Nunley.
Sarah asked me what my purpose was in going to the temple tonight. I have been feeling a lack of spiritual connection with God. Not knowing if some things that I thought were feelings from God, or whether God really speaks to me, as in a voice, or otherwise through other people. Also, I felt inadequate when talking about how Anthony or Sarah say that they feel that God is telling them to do things, or that God has said this. Sarah explained to me that God doesn't really directly talk to her, but she acknowledges the times she feels God is directing her to do stuff to not discount his hand in her life. Good stuff, I know.
I introduced Brother Hardy to her. And it was funny, a lady named Sister Gardiner came up to me (after I had recognized her too) and told me that she knew me from yesterday at Lewis Elementary. She's a kindergarten teacher there. So she was asking me about subbing and things. I said hi to all the girls. The Relief Society represented. It was just me, Bishop Ellsworth, and Brother Harris for us boys. Jared Beall and Matthew Nunley were there. Sarah and I talked for quite a while in the Celestial Room. We shared what we learned and were the last ones to leave the room.
Sarah told me more about Kimberly. I just feel for her; she's going through some rough times. Kim texted Sarah that she wanted to talk. Hopefully it's good stuff, but you never know with her. So we prayed for her. We also stood in the prayer circle. And Sarah wrote her name in the prayer roll.
Good night.
