9/19 Arno and the Churro and air

I noticed last night that for some reason, my job for today had been cancelled. Don't know why. So, I had every intention of working, so I picked up a roving job at Zimmerman, a school that I have been dreading to go back to since the incident of almost losing a child last year. I was greeted with warmth, thankfully. No one mentioned the incident at all, so I was grateful. The day however, was difficult in some rights. I just wasn't good at keeping the kids attention for more than 30 minutes. It was about half and half. Half good, half so-so. In the last hour and a half, they had me doing some filing and folder making for new students.

I came home and rested before Brother Murrish came back to the house to finish what he was working on. The downstairs was definitely a mess.

Sarah asked to come over and we watched the John Bytheway video that Bishop recommend that we watch. It lasted over an hour because we stopped to discuss things we learned and we came out a stronger couple for sure. Then, after talking with mom for a bit about different things, we went to meet Sarah's dad Arno at Taco Bell here in Fontana. He was driving back to Redlands from a doctor's appointment. Nice guy. Today was his 69th birthday, so I payed for Frito Burrito and a Churro to celebrate from Cardenas. We went to Cardenas because dad wanted Chips, Salsa, and Bananas.

Arno (at Sarah's request) told me about stories of how his father was a animal dealer in New York. He even had polar bears and cheetahs in his shop. For his fifth birthday, his parents provided a baby elephant to ride on. Arno is a very nice guy. We helped him pump up his tires before he left. He somehow knew that the air was supposed to be free instead of paying the fee on side. He told me about National University. He graduated from BYU himself. I was first to spot him when he walked through the door. After we had sat back down in the car, before we ate the churros, we sang happy birthday to him as well as in Spanish. I think he enjoyed it.

I work at Sycamore tomorrow, definitely a half day, roving. I do look forward to working with Laurel Allen, the sub manager.
