It's been a nice day.
I was roving at Sycamore Hills today. I really like Laurel Allen, the Sub manager at the elementary school. She is so nice to me, and sometimes she's stressed, but even when she's stressed, she does a nice job. I was in two classes today of Fifth Graders, Mr. Thornbergs and Mrs. Galvez's classes. The second half of the day was much more easy going than the first half. In Mr. T's class we read from a science book about Arthur, a science fiction writer that wrote about things before they were ever invented. We filled out two computer programs together. In Mrs. G's class, I was just there to watch that they stayed on task. They were doing Patriot Day Slides in Google Slides that were due tomorrow. The reason why the teachers wanted me in their classrooms was so they could do Diebles (sp?), which is testing them on some sort of aspect of reading and other things. The first class played BoomBall, which I have never played and had no idea what was happening. It was some form of kickball baseball, but with a little twist.
Sarah sent me a Facebook message, a nice long one. It had to do with Moses in Prince of Egypt, and how he was a great man, even with some weeknesses and other things in his life. When getting with her later, it was nice to talk about how I love the scene where Moses is approaching the Burning Bush and how he had to take off his sandals on holy ground. I told her about how I used that clip in my BYU ward when I was a Sunday School teacher for that limited amount of time.
Dad gave me the idea to have a picnic with Sarah. He provided me with some of the food that he received at his work, plus leftover fried rice and fried chicken, corn beef, and rotisserie chicken he had just bought. I took her to Martin Tudor park and we laid out a blanket underneath the shade of some trees. And we ate and talked. I told her about my escapades in theme parks, how I do like all the rides at Disneyland and can handle them, about going on the X at Six Flags, and not ever wanting to go on Xcellerator at Knotts. I asked her about Knotts, as an idea for our honeymoon (although I don't think I mentioned honeymoon). The food was good and filling thanks to Dad.
I had to contact five names for disciplinary councils for Bishop. So I did that when I was with her as well. I showed her the three schools east of Sierra, Sycamore Hills, Ruth O. Harris, and Bloomington High. Then we kissed for a while. I actually gave Sarah a hickey...she (and I) really liked it.
When I got home I watched the rest of Jeopardy with Mom and Wheel of Fortune. They are in their 35th season. I can't imagine doing a game show for 35 years. I wonder if Pat and Vannah are sick of it by now. They added new things like getting to choose between three choices for final round. I also watched a HIMYM episode called "Jenkins." In it, Robin says "But, um" so much it inspires a drinking game among Ted's college class of classmates. Also, Marshall's Lily punches Jenkins (who is a girl) for kissing Marshall. It was quite funny.
Sarah is in Torrance now, spending the night at her mother's house. She left at 7:15 after our picnic. She's going to go her Uncle's place tomorrow to celebrate his birthday. And then join me for Baptisms for the Dead tomorrow.
I don't have work tomorrow.
