9/28 First Day of Roadtrip with Sarah:Roselyn and Granny

It's been good, all around.

This morning, Sarah Rebecca and I embarked on our journey towards Hurricane, Utah and ultimately Salt Lake and back.

The ride didn't take that long, it seemed, because we were talking, or listening to music or Brian Regan. We even read our scriptures and a conference talk from Women's session. We ate Blueberry Granola bars and sour cream and cheddar chips. And we drank juice boxes and water the whole ride there.

In St. George, we went to a previous mission companion of Sarah's named Stephanie, that had two girls named Claire and Roselyn. We helped sweep and mop her floor, and I took it upon myself to organize the living room. We enjoyed leisurely time talking outside and watching her girls play on the slide. The house was a big mess, so it was nice to help her clean. Roselyn wanted me to read her different stories while sitting on my lap. It was quite cute. We also talked about Star Wars because Stephanie is a SW nut with her husband. Her husband wasn't there because he was out on business. I learned what estate planning is (it is when you plan out a will or give permission for someone to control your assets if you get sick). Stephanie is a lawyer, which is why we were talking about that sort of thing.

Then we went to Granny's house, and she had McKennah and Kenyon and Kaelyn and Aunt Ann and the baby Layne. We talked about Aunt Ann's first impressions of McKennah and I as kids. We showed Sarah Granny's art and she was amazed. Kaelyn had drawn a portrait of granny that was spot on. When they left, us four went to Lupita's at my request. It was noisier in there than usual. Sarah got the King Size burrito. I got Carne Asada. Ann and Granny shared a type of soup that wasn't soup.

After we got back, we went to say hi to Aunt Kristen and Uncle Kent. Jade was there (we actually knocked on his house door first). But he was over at his parents house. Aryn was there too. Kathrine too, but she was downstairs. It was nice to talk to Aunt Kristen. Before we went to their house, Sarah memorized as many names from pictures as she could. We left after talking for a bit.

Then we watched a few Studio C and an episode of the West Wing.

Jacob, in his every other day letter to President Bednar, seemed really good. We'll see how he feels in the next couple of days.

Big day tomorrow.
