What a day at work! It was not fun. I went to Lewis roving today and they put me in a fifth grade classroom, Mr. Huill. There were four kids: Jesse, Damien, Abel and ______. They all gave me a run for my money. Fortunately, the teacher was there, so I relied on him for a bit, but just a little bit. I'm one of those subs that does their best to handle themselves without help. Sometimes that gets me in a predicament. Like today, Jesse was complaining of bullying, so I let him sit outside to cry and stuff. When he came in, he got in a scuffle with a few boys and was pulled or pushed into a pile of instruments on the floor, where he tripped and hurt his back, and complained that he couldn't feel his lower back and extremities, but I knew wasn't seriously that because he was walking. I sent him to the office right before lunch and when lunch came, I went to the office to make sure the right story was told, even though I didn't see it all. The principal questioned me, so that was interesting because I didn't have all the information. Even with the four kids out of the classroom, it was still very hard to take control of the class afterwards, because I think the kids thought I was a joke, which in this instance was pretty true.
By lunch time, I was about to pull my hair out. Sarah called me and I told her all my woes. She later texted me that she was praying for me. When I got the text, I had been changed assignments. I almost burst the last half hour I was with the kids. But tender mercies. I was put in a class that had a teacher that was in charge and another sub
Wee had las hermanas over for dinner. Sarah made this awesome caulifflour and she gave me a recipe to make corn bread. It all turned out so good. The Hermanas names are Hermanas Franco, Decker and M_____. We had stimulating conversation. What's weird is that the Elders showed up out of nowhere, right when we were telling the how we met story. Elders Houskeeper and Brower.
We shared our favorite Book of Mormon scriptures.
I'm hoping for a good day tomorrow at Birney. One thing I don't want is for them to put me in that same 5th grade class I was in on Wednesday.
