10/24 Crazy subbing and Quiche Sister dinner

Okay, work was crazy...even when I was at Jurupa Vista. Part of it was because I barely took this job yesterday evening. So Ms. Litchford only had printed plans at the front desk. Nothing was really prepared except small activities in the textbook. The story she had the kids reading was a poem. How can someone glean so much from a poem. I think she thought that she was giving me a story to read, but in the end, it turned out to be nothing but a poem. So, we read three poems, and then I showed them several episodes from Magic School Bus...one theme based on flying planes. Not to mention, I had to team teach two classes with Mrs. Martin. She was also having a so-so day today, since Mrs. Litchford was out of class yesterday and hadn't told Mrs. Martin why. I was happy when the day was over because those kids were just so noisy. And I didn't even mention that 4th grade got split up, so I had six extra kids to take care of and who, fortunately, had chromebooks, because I wasn't about to spend time figuring things out to do. I only feel bad that I didn't pay much attention to them. They don't deserve that.

Sarah had the missionaries over. What's great about her is that she made the Quiche during her lunch break. She cam back home and made the quiche then. She also invited 2 girls from work, Kiki and Shalara. The sisters, Sister Fausitt and Child ate with us as well. We had a nice meal prepared by my lovely fiancee, Sarah. I went to buy tortilla chips, at Sarah's request, and we ate it with Mango/Peach Salsa from Shaunna's fridge. It was super duper good. Then the sisters shared the Restoration lesson with us. They had me read Joseph Smith's First Vision, which I thought was appropriate. It was a super nice touch. The two women, both African American just ate it up. And when we brought out the Book of Mormon, they willingly and surprisingly took it. They had been prepared for it, actually. And on the ride back to their house, I explained to them the book of Mormon, because the sisters had to leave quickly before finishing their lesson. It was pretty cool.

Tomorrow, Sarah and I are going to finalize are invitations at the library. She's not going to go to a Relief Society activity. Hopefully we get done before then so she can go.

Life has been really good. In most ways. Sarah and I decided to start a weightloss program called Optavia. We are a week and two days in to...
