Sorry bud.
This is going to be a short letter, because I just barely got home from a long Sabbath day and it's already almost 11pm.
On monday, I got an Ear Lavage (after waiting 2 hours in a doctor's office). I missed the partial eclipse, unfortunately. There's always 2023. They got a syringe and filled it up with warm water and high pressured squeezed it into my ear. After the fifth squeeze I was hearing better. After like the 9th squeeze, the high pressure was hurting. But, I'm healed! Probably thanks to yours and other's prayers.
I'm getting home so late because I was asked to be a Facilitator for a Self-reliance initiative that the church is beginning to beta test in the states. It's popular outside the states, so we are one of the first wards to do it, I think. I know they've started it in Utah already because Sarah Rebecca has already gone through a class. The initial fireside took two hours from 7 on and so that's why it is so late, plus I had to give Tyler Frederick a ride home.
I had a pretty good three days of work from Wednesday on. However, the last half of my friday roving went awry. The kids (first graders) were super naughty and hard to corral. I had to call the principal for backup. My wednesday and thursday were spent at Jurupa Vista, mostly with the SDC, and you know how I like both the SDC and Jurupa Vista. I'm making friends with the new 5/6 SDC combo teacher. He even said that he will probably soon be looking for an aide to help him out. So I told him to let me know when he does it because I am super interested. He said, however, that it might take the district a year to process his request, so not to get my hopes up.
The game was okay. We won, which is what really matters, but the other team did pretty good, considering people were saying that this was going to be a cake walk. There were two touchdowns and two field goals. I sent you the most exciting clips. Second touchdown, not so exciting because it was at the one yard line, which the player set up in one of the clips. The other team had one touchdown but missed the PAT. It was kinda too close for comfort for a little while.
I guess, I'll keep you informed about the US Open, or at least what I hear. I still wish the final wasn't played on Sunday. I always feel bad watching it.
Did you like your birthweek of snailmail from me?
Sarah Rebecca is moving to a house near us next Friday. Crazy! I'm really looking forward to it.
Anyways, I love you kiddo.
John
