Today I felt a bit stupid during my first half of work. I was at Lewis Elementary roving. We were assigned two different classes, so one for the first half of work and one for the second half after lunch. Well, my first class was a fourth grade class room #2. The sub plans were paper clipped to several papers unrelated to sub work. So, I saw that page and I was like, oh man, there isn't enough work to last us the first 2 and a half hours. I was spread thin. I did my job to make each thing as long as I possibly could. Finally, at the end of first recess, I was like well, there is only 30 minutes left and I have nothing for the kids to do so I let them draw. The teacher arrived just on time. I told her about feeling spread thin and she said, did you not see the second page? I was like, uh, no, I hadn't seen a second page. She de-paper clipped the front page of the sub plans and turned it over. I was like my bad, when I saw that she had had more plans on the back. I felt so dumb, haha. Nothing to cry over, but I had messed up. But it is pretty impressive that I spread an hour or so worth of work over 2 to 3 hours, haha.
Second half was good. I utilized my extensive knowledge of songs, like the favorite: the hokey pokey, once there was a snowman, and popcorn poppin'. I was with first graders, but I must have been in a good mindset because it was not that hard as last week's sub job. They had centers at the end of the day, which started chaotically, but ended organized, fortunately. I have SDC at Lewis next week, as well as two other SDC classes next week. This week is Roving week and next week is SDC week. Monday is a holiday, Labor Day.
Now that I think about it, the LA County Fair starts September 1, this friday. Sarah and I could possibly go to the fair on Labor Day, if it is open. Just checked, it is open. It is not open following Mondays or Wednesdays, so it is a possibility of being something we do this weekend. Sarah doesn't have to use her crutches anymore, she told me.
Sarah and I have been chatting about possible honeymoon destinations. We've mentioned maybe going to Disneyland, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, etc. Not worrying about money because we should not be afraid of that. I brought her to the fact of what we were going to do after we were married, namely, where we are going to live. I brought up moving to Arizona. I told her about my family ties to Arizona, and wanting to move to Arizona after I broke up with Stephanie. Visiting Aunt Kerry and Uncle Steve on my two trips to Arizona. And shadowing Kerry being a school psychologist. She said she'd consider it. That's the great thing about Sarah Rebecca, she's up to anything if we talk about it and pray about it beforehand. I love that about her. She believes everything is possible. I need to carry that mindset about different things. Mostly the stuff I believe isn't possible.
I guess, with God, ALL things are possible.
I still need to talk to Mom and Dad about wanting to get married in December. Hopefully it all goes well.
