Letter #22

Hey Jacob!

So, I have a talk to give next week. What? It feels like I just gave one, doesn't it? I did, exactly six months yesterday. They wanted to be thorough and ask me to give one. It was brother Harris. I bet you have had an interesting first sunday in your ward, as well and interesting first week in the field. I wanna hear all about it. Do you like your companion? Is he a good dad? How's the ward? Did you bear your testimony to all of them? That's what I did my first testimony meeting.

So just like any normal person, Federer is nervous about the upcoming Wimbledon, I read. This teaches me that it is okay to feel nervous when it comes to things, but to overcome those fears and play the best match that we have ever played in our lives, and come out number one in life. And just like Federer has coaches in life, we have people that we can look to, our parents, our siblings, our friends, our companion and ultimately to God and Jesus Christ. They understand your fight and will be there for you in all you set your mind to accomplish.

I learned something from President Sears today in a Break the Fast fireside. He said that we shouldn't do things halfway. He was referring to keeping the commandments and the covenants we make to God. Some people have their feet in two places, one in the church and the other in the world. The goal is to have both feet planted on Gospel Sod.

So, we still have no idea what we are planning on doing for the Fourth of July. Either FOHI or Claremont. I'm good with either.

I'm planning on going up to Utah about four days before mom and dad go up so that I can finally meet Sarah Rebecca. I video chatted her for the first time today and let me tell you, she's a pretty sweet person. I do like her a lot.

Oh, my talk is on Testimony: How a testimony of the Book of Mormon has blessed my life. I'm actually looking forward to it. I don't have you here to help me come up with some witty joke for the beginning. The last joke you gave me was gold. So now I have to resort to my limited humor, haha. Hopefully I don't obsess over this thing the whole week where I won't have a chance to study effectively, like I do with lessons or speaking.

Well, I can't wait to hear from you, Brother. I love you soo much. We pray daily for you, and not just daily, hourly even. Always thinking about you constantly.

John

PS I'm adding my favorite moment from Disneyland this Monday. The girls dared us to propose to the princesses. I only had guts to propose to 1 out of the 3, Cinderella. Thomas finally followed suit as well, haha. I was the instigator, though. Besides being drenched in sweat all day on Monday and the many thousands of people that were there we had to watch for, the outing was quite enjoyable. I just love disneyland with a passion.
