7/14 Mamamama's passing and Glucometers

It's been somewhat eventful today. We got up at 3am to take Lucy and Dad to the airport for the first leg of their journey back to Peru. They will get there at 10pm Peru time. Mom noticed that Tio Wiwa posted as if Mamamama had already passed. We called Peru and Joan let us know that yes, she did pass at 2am. They didn't let us know in time to tell Dad and Lucy before they left. We're wondering if that is because they didn't want the flight to be spoiled for Lucy. However, we're wondering if they found out while they were in Mexico City on a layover. When we left this morning, we had had an email saying that something was wrong with the ticket. But when we got to LAX, everything worked out fine, so we're hoping they have had no problems with the rest of their fight.

We got home and watched the early morning Wimbledon semi-finals. Cilic versus Querey from the USA. Sam Querey lost but I was falling asleep watching the Federer match. I watched it later in the day, and he won. So, Federer and Cilic are in the Finals this Sunday at Wimbledon. Hopefully Federer wins.

Mom went to the doctor. It turns out she has Type II Diabetes. So she had to pick up her Gluco-meter and the nurse taught her how to use it. She was 180 and it is supposed to be lower than 160, I think. The nurse was very nice and very helpful. It's one of those machines which pricks your finger for blood. It stinks that she has to use that, and she has to watch her diet as well. We went to CVS to pick up some medicine.

We got a Salad for mom and a Sourdough Jack from Jack in the Box.

Other than that, it's been a tiring day.

I'm going to write Jacob to update him on Wimbledon and Mamamama.
