7/9 Parents at my Talk and Praises

Today is my parent's 29th wedding anniversary...one more to thirty, crazy. Hopefully by their 30th, I'll be married and they can celebrate being empty nesters. We celebrated yesterday at Sizzler.

Today was my big talk. I wasn't really nervous that much. I mean, I practiced it so many times yesterday so it felt good. I invited Mom and Dad to come watch me, and THEY DID! They sat in the way back right. I introduced them to Tyler Frederick and partly to Spencer Hutchings. Tyler was excited to meet them. I guess after my talk, Sister Waitman, a really nice lady who is one of the shepherding couples from Fontana had nothing to say but praise of me to Mom. Mom just said that I must have been born that way. When I heard that I told her and mom that I get part of my good nature from them, my parents and my family. The Kirtleys said hi to my parents as well.

I spoke with Suzette Swallow and Steven Smith. The funny thing is that both of them had completely different topics that I had. Their topics were about Service, and being in the Service of the Lord and Self Reliance. It was hard tying the three talks together, but I did my best. Also, choir performed a number right before my talk. We sang "America the Beautiful." My joke to the congregation was a spill for choir, to join it and get cookies. The clock in the chapel was wrong, but that is what I used to time my talk and when to finish. I'll copy and paste the quotes of my talk to the next entry. Anyways, it went well. I barely read any of it. I usually prepare and outline of what I'm going to talk about and then I go with it, reading a quote here and there.

I asked Danielle Demke about the Librarian Technician Test that I'm going to take. She said there isn't any books to study, it is all librarian common knowledge. So hopefully that doesn't mean I'm screwed. I'm still looking forward to taking the test.

I helped Tyler conduct the Priesthood hymn today which was Families Can Be Together Forever. Got Ryan chalk, and had a fun time talking to some new girls at Linger Longer, Abby and Courtney, but then some other guy took the conversation.

I got a text from Sarah earlier today saying that she was going to start a fast. I told her that I would join her in her fast for answers. We then came together after the block and we prayed to break our fast. She's trying to decide when a good time would be to move to California. She wants to know how committed I am to her. We kind of lightly talked about getting married in December or so, because it's 6 months away. First she told me she was planning on moving here, but then she said that if she stays in Utah until December, she has a good chance of paying off her debts that she owes. Namely her car and her surgery. Plus she has health insurance in Utah. So I too, am conflicted with the choice that has been put before us. And, I too, need to really think it over.

However, while I was in Temple Prep class, a revelation came to me that had to deal with Presentness, me not meeting her is like waiting to go to the temple, but once you are there, everything just falls into place, so I feel that once I meet her, everything will just fall into place.

Uncle David said that I can chill at his house when I'm in Utah by myself.

Life has been really good. In most ways. Sarah and I decided to start a weightloss program called Optavia. We are a week and two days in to...
