So, last night I told Mom more about Sarah Rebecca's family. I let her know that her brother had sexually abused she and her sister. I don't know much of the details, and Mom told Dad this morning and they were having an animated conversation about me before I went downstairs. They basically told me that I need to be firm in my belief that I will not allow my kids to have a chance to associate with this brother. And if she cares against this belief, that it should be a dealbreaker, but I don't see it as that easy, because I have already declared my love for Sarah. Dad says that I need to get all the details and how Sarah feels about this brother. So yeah, I woke up to this, and a call from Sarah.
I took a 30 question Librarian Technician practice test and missed 17. So yeah, I'm going to fail, because there are no study materials. Mom took the practice test after me and she missed 10. She also said that the test is really suggestive, meaning, it is totally the opinion of whoever made the test. When we were at Pancho Villas, mom expressed that she is pretty sure that the job is probably already taken and that they were advertising it just because it's the law. So, who knows? We'll see, but now I'm not really expecting to get the job regardless of my score, which will probably be bad anyways.
Brother Harris made and gave me a copper J-pole. We agreed to talk to each other at 9pm tonight to test it out. Well, I wasn't able to hear Brother Harris but then President Knudsen hopped on and I was able to hear him loud and clear on Simplex. He was using a spider antenna. This was an improvement from the last time I talked to him because before he had to move to a closer location to hear me. But we were both in our houses broadcasting and we could hear each other perfectly. We also hopped on the Fontana Repeater and we could hear each other but not as clearly, with static and quieter. The repeater operator told us we could use it because there was no traffic on it at the moment. She even told us that before we left we need to sign off. She thanked us when we both signed off. I wonder if Brother Harris could hear her, because he couldn't hear us.
Also, it was quite funny, President Knudsen asked me not to call him President when we talked on the radios, because when you are talking, you are on a first name basis and it is not correct to use titles such as bishop, president or brother. When he told me that, I was like, I don't think I can call him Todd, which is his first name, because I am really not use to it. He laughed and told me I had to try. Mom was in the room and told me that I should call him Braden's dad or Cody's dad. He laughed at the prospect. It was fun talking to him, though, I enjoy his humor and love for the church.
Sarah was with Sabina when I talked to her. We talked about Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, because Sabina is really into it. I'm grateful for her because Sarah wants me to come sooner, and I'm reluctant and content with being there next Tuesday. Sabina told her she could wait 5 days since we'll be with each other for eternity, and was telling her to calm down, and not wish to leave Utah early. Sabina probably really dislikes me for having Sarah come to Cali and not staying in Utah with her. She really does have some good friends. When I was talking with them, they were going to a garden. I didn't bring up my parents concerns because Sabina was on the line and also because I didn't feel it was a good time to do so.
Family Home Evening tonight was very fun. We sat at a long table with two sides and were tied at our wrists to the person on our right and our left. Caitlin Coder was on my left and Amanda Ahlman was on my right side. We had to eat sloppy joes and salad tied to two people. Across from me were Maddie Bird and Haley Daker and Jacob Young. Maddie asked me how my day was, and I told her it was good and that I talked to my girlfriend, which was news to her and she asked me about Sarah. I don't feel like I did her justice, though, I did my best. She was like wow, a budding relationship. It was quite fun being across from her because she played charades, and I got it slowly (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), no one knew the movie but me.
The Elders gave the lesson. They asked us to use social media to reach out to people and share the gospel with them. Most just shared the Because Of Him LDS Easter video, because that is what they showed us. But it was a good lesson and #testimonyTuesday was introduced again. I don't think we did a good job in introducing it though.
Mom, Dad and I went to Pancho Villas, which was so good, but bad when I had to eat the sloppy joe because I was still so full from Lunch.
Prayer with Sarah is always good. She gives good thoughtful prayers. It unifies us as a couple.
OH Yeah, Roger won his match against Dimitrov, but that wasn't the best Wimbledon Match of the Day. Muller played Rafael Nadal and it was a five set thriller. Ending with the underdog defeating Rafa 15-13. Crazy. I wished I had watched it...oh, and we got letters and pictures and a video of Jacob. The video was quite funny because it was of his companionship with the sisters on a playground merry-go-round and jacob totally eating it. Funny!
