2/1 Mrs. Linda and Dinner with Mom and Dad

Today was really great. I was at Sycamore doing Mrs. Pierce's SDC class. I got a lot of help from Linda, who is an aide that is super nice to me and makes my days go by like nothing. Two things, there was a fire drill, but the kids were really good, and there was an assembly about raising money for heart awareness. I wonder how successful these things (fundraisers) really are. They said that if they raised like $4000 they would donate $300 worth of playground equipment. Which sounds good, but Sycamore is already equipped with sound playground equipment.

The other SDC class (Mr. Gonzalez) was also ran by a sub, and he seemed to be on top of his game, calling kids by their names and greeting me. I did my best to call the children by their names by the end of the day...names like Jasmine or Omar or Gael or Angel or Benjamin or Matthew G. They really are good kids, even Lizzie and/or Aiden.

We invited my Mom and Dad over for dinner. We made fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw salad. All were very well received by everyone. We had a nice time chatting. We moved the table so we could fit four people. Then we played Stop!, which I humbly lost. The parents were impressed by how nice the house looked. We showed them around after we were done eating.

The house smelled like gas when I got home, so I kept the door open for half an hour, and the smell of chicken really helped.
