7/29 Letter #79

Jacob.

Let me tell you, this has been a rollercoaster of a week.

I remember letting you know that Sarah's job was terminated last week (we got the email while we were at Briana's). We decided to try and change our plans and move to Arizona together and see if Uncle Steve and Aunt Janell would let us stay with him at there house in Arizona. We were kinda putting all our bushels in one basket. Well, to our disappointment, and understanding, he said we couldn't. So, we have had to think about what to do next.

We've decided to stick with our original plans, only difference about these ones is that Sarah doesn't have a job anymore, which puts a lot pressure on me and her to do well in the next upcoming month.

Most of the week has been us packing and preparing for a move.

We ended up going to Zion National Park and just enjoyed the beauty of that park. We have pictures that I'll share with you. We then stayed at Sarah's friend's house Laren in Las Vegas for the night. They were super nice and gave us a nice place to sleep and eat. We also joined with them in a FHE where Laren taught her two kids about the Law of the Tithe (but in simpler terms). We had super good quesadillas and ice cream.

We had Las Hermanas over at our house on Friday and they helped us pack some boxes and clean our fridge for picture taking. Yes. We are trying to sell our furniture. We decided that the moving expense was just going to be too much for our budget. And Sarah will be staying with Shaunna Lee, which is a blessing.

We did go to Temple Baptisms with the youth on Wednesday. They took us to a Costco in San Bernardino and we ate pizza like pigs. It was quite a nice experience. We sat next to Bishop and Sister Garcia, and they were talking about Sammy and Edward's exploits at scout camp. She was horrified that he had used his money to mostly buy candy. Then, the truth came out and we found out that he also bought a pocket knife and a whet stone. He thought hi mom would be mad, but she was like "Good! I'm glad you bought something worth something." haha. Sarah came with and we also talked to Gsus, the Young Men's president. He thanked me for my service in the calling.

We were invited to the parent's house on Friday to celebrate Dad's birthday. It was super fun and we had nice food (fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and rice) with Lucy and Jesus. We sang happy birthday to him. It was really nice to celebrate, for sure.

We took Sarah's mom her dining room table back that she had lent us (with Mom's car, thanks mom) on Saturday. We spent the day helping her mom find a printer that would work on her computer. It was nice to help her out.

Oh, and we had dinner with the Harris' the day we got back from the Idaho trip. We went to Old Spaghetti Factory because the place we wanted to go was closed.

Dad and Sarah had a long chat today at church (after our's and during their's). Basically, our parent's hope we are doing the right thing, was the gist of the conversation.

Well, I know that this letter isn't so much to the caliber of most letters I write you. It's just been a mindboggling day and week, really. I hope you know that I love you and care for you a lot.

Send me a line.

Love,

John
