Today was great! How I love MEMORIAL DAY, as it is the landmark that reminds me that I will be increasing in age. My birthday is in two days. Sarah was intent on getting her business advertisement done so that she may expand her business to those everywhere in four or five states with a $50 ad boost as done by Facebook. Her dad was suppose to come at 9:30, but it's good that he didn't because I was able to relax without leaving her home and she was able to take her time in getting her advertisement up and running. It all worked out. Sure, we were a bit late to the 10am event, but we hardly missed anything. In fact, we got there like a half hour before they served the food.
The event that our ward (Juniper) put on was at the Don Day Park. We went to Target to pick some stuff up, like two bags of ice and water balloon fillers. Of course, we went around saying hi to everyone that was there when we got there. For lunch they made cheese burgers, hotdogs, chicken salad, noodle salad, chips, and someone even brought Juan Pollo (which was extremely tasty). Mom called while we were eating and wanted to come. I told her where it was and even fixed up a plate for her in advance. Dad called while we were in the middle of the fiesta and kinda got mad at mom for going to a latin party without him when she never goes with him. It wasn't really something to get mad about. But mom was in a fuss when she left.
Sarah and Sisters Mondragon and Garcia were having a nice friendly heated conversation about the difference we make as an individual on the Earth's climate and how God's hand is in the little things and the big things and global warming is an excuse for scientists not to believe that there is a higher power. I took a small nap and when I opened my eyes, Jorge Munguia asked me if I wanted to play Soccer. For some reason I said yes, and I'm really glad I did. Soccer was so much fun. I was on a team with Elder Brower, Sammy, Hermano Ortiz, and a couple others. True to form, I played defense and a little offense. I was wearing my flash shirt and so they called me the flash. I was doing pretty good for myself and afterwards people gave me praise for really sticking with the defense and being a rogue agent.
We gave the Elders a ride home. Sarah was soaking wet because of filling water balloons in the shower at Don Day pool. Sarah really wanted to play some tennis, which I'm fine with. We drove all the way back to Catawba park and played a couple of rounds. Sarah was focusing on getting it over the net and then on power and then on her backhand. She got a lot over the fence, because we were playing up close.
We then went to Sarah's dad's house in Redlands. We helped him clean up his room as a service to him. It wasn't as messy as last time.
We got home, not wanting to go out to the movies for it was too late. We watched an episode of The West Wing which was a bit of a downer episode, then two episodes of the Legend of Korra.
It's been a great Memorial Day.
