Dearest friends,
Hello to all!

Alright, who's still here?
Jacob is home! I can't believe it! The culmination of two years has come to an end, and now, our family is once again whole. I am happy to have my brother home.
Long story short, everything went okay with everything. Jacob's flight was long for him: 6 or 7 hours. We went straight to the Stake Center so that Jacob could be released, and it was so good to see the kind of person that Jacob has turned into, changed and possibly repented, if repent in this sense means turned away from all things and devoting his Life to our God. The Stake President asked him some really good, pertinent questions, that even had me reflecting on my mission, and my life since. One thing that I found interesting is the fact that he said that he was not immune to the wiles of the devil. That there is always a possibility of faltering from the Strait and Narrow. That even a person as spiritual and motivated as Elder Gonzales, could become slothful and go through the motions. It touched me how much President Stacey cared about Jacob and about his insight on the work that he accomplished. I felt pretty emotional when Jacob said that at the first of his mission, he had desires to take off the badge he wore, but since then that sentiment has converted to a love for that tag and the names on it, himself and Jesus Christ.
We went to Miguels, Jr., our family mexican Restaurant that has our favorite burritos, Bean and Cheese, and Garbage. The next day we went to Lucho's, a very friendly, Peruvian restaurant with a man who owns it and that is a good friend of the family, and his wife. They were very happy to see us as a family together and played with Cohen. As we were there we watched a match between Peru and Brazil. And we lost terribly. 5-0.
Jacob, Sarah R, and I went to go play tennis that morning. It was quite fun to see and be with my wife, who worked really hard. We played doubles against Jacob. And then I played a set with him next. I was doing really good at holding my own, and Jacob said I was very good defensively.
We then went to the Swap Meet. I bought Sarah a churro, but we didn't find what we were really looking for, which was Disney shirts. The previous day, I bought a shirt from Ross (with lightning bolts on it and the shirt is Gray and the lightning bolts are black or dark blue, I think. We also picked up a portable charger for my phone, and two memory cards for my video recording camera. We walked around with my sister Sarah for a little bit.
We also were able to watch the first Marvel movie that Jacob hasn't seen yesterday. It was Spider-man: Homecoming. I can't wait til he sees more. We also watched Pixar's Coco. And he loved both.
We had Stake Conference in Fontana today. All the talks were so good, especially Sister Dixon's talk on the name of the church, and reading it line by line
The Church
of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints.
It was pretty stinking awesome. It has inspired me.
Well, that is pretty brief for this week, and it only covers like threeish days. The ride to California was fun, as Sarah and I talked and I worked on my video.
Oh yes, my video finished uploading the second Jacob was off the mission. It's really good. I missed his entrance, as we were still trying to find a parking spot in the right terminal, which we messed up.
I've had lots of time to be here for my family this weekend.
I love you all,
John
